Patient Care & Satisfaction

The Staff of Bayside Community Hospital and Bayside & West Chambers Medical Clinics work hard every day to earn your trust; we believe that we must continually earn the privilege of providing for you and your family’s healthcare needs. To insure that we understand how we are doing, we ask those we have the opportunity to serve to answer a short survey (all information we collect is “blinded” and remains anonymous). We then compile that information into reports that are shared with the Staff, Administration and the Board, as well as with the Community. We believe you have a right to know how good a job we do, because, after all, it’s all about your most important possession, your health.

The District has been posting quality and satisfaction data since November 2006, one of the first in the region to do so. In May of 2008 we changed how we gather our quality and satisfaction data, so you will now find two sections: “Patient Satisfaction Surveys,” and, “Patient Satisfaction Data.” The Surveys section provides the data and results gathered from November 2006 to May 2008. The Data section is broken down in to four parts: Inpatient, Outpatient (Lab, Radiology, etc.) Surgery and Emergency Room. Some of these reports are monthly and some are quarterly, and represent data and results gathered from May of 2008 to present.

Quarterly Report

Infection Rates:

Hospital acquired (nosocomial) infection rates have been very much in the news these last several years, including the Institute of Medicine's report back in 2004. We take it very seriously here at Bayside, too! We constantly monitor and assess our programs and practices to eliminate, to the greatest degree possible, those practices and processes that may result in harm or discomfort to those we are privileged to serve. We have an active Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement (QA/PI) program whereby we constantly monitor our results against best-in-practice standards. Our Incident Reporting program identifies problem areas, and devises corrective actions and efforts. At the end of the day, we always remember why we are here: "First, do no harm." Please see the attached link below for the most up to date infection information:
