Responsible for the collection of supporting data, entry of that data into the organization’s information systems and, ultimately, producing the bill for services provided, the staff of Bayside’s Business Office work across all departments to perform their duties.

Beginning with the admission process, where demographic and insurance data is gathered, through the discharge process, where the providers identify and dictate the services and treatments provided, the Business Office staff have to be true “jacks-of-all-trades” to decipher, interpret and translate all that information, from that wide range of sources, into the form, format and codes required by the multitude of payors Bayside works with. Then, once that is done, constantly follow-up to insure that Bayside is, first, being paid, and, second, being paid properly and according to the contract. Working with so many different payors, who all have their own way of seeing and doing things, can be very stressful and time consuming, sometimes taking many, many months, and that’s before addressing concerns and questions from the individual who gets a bill for the balance.

Bayside staff work diligently to insure that data is verifiable and correct, so that bills are timely and explanatory, within a system they didn’t create nor can they control.
